As a Bulls fan we were always looking for a Jordan replacement. I get it...we were spoiled. Fans of other teams have gone through awful stretches. We didn't really have to do that. We had terrible teams, but it was the baby Bulls. From Tyson Chandler, Ben Gordon, young Noah, and even bad ass Ben Wallace. With Del Negro at the helm we had excitement night after night. Then we lucked out with Drose. A kid from Chicago. Someone who beat the odds of his upbringing. A kid who shined in the playoff against the Celtics as a compliment to Ben Gordon. Then he took this franchise on his back. Winning an MVP and Taking us to the ECF. Bested by Lebron, but knowing he was good enough to make his child hood hero proud. Injuries happen and it sucks so bad. But we have had something to cheer about for years. Loud and proud. It appears he won't make waves in all time NBA talk, but he is already cemented in Chicago sports lore. Thank you Derrick Fucking Rose for being an inspiration. We still believe in you. The jersey on my wall will always be next to MJ's. You don't need rings for Chicago to love you. Get better and prove all of us wrong.
