Choosing a Computer Printer
Computer Printers, also known as a dot matrix printer or laser printer, creates a dry, permanent copy (also human readable text and/ or graphics) of data stored in electronic format, typically on magnetic paper or other print media like transparencies or paper tape. It uses inkjet and laser technologies for printing onto paper. The inkjet printer utilizes water droplets contained in a cartridge onto ink pads that are covered by an ink cartridge. The printout created is a result of the nozzle spraying the ink onto the target surface. The laser printer uses a beam of light to create the image.

Dot matrix printers, also called dot matrix, are devices that use a solid ink roller and a laser printer head. The dot matrix printer is basically a computer device with multiple LED screens. This type of printer is most widely used in office environments like technical publishing, fax machines, and medical instrument manufacturers. DPCP printing devices work similarly to dot matrix printers. However, there are noticeable differences between these two types of computer printers. The key difference lies in the way DPCPs manage their phosphor levels.

High-Performance Ink Ribbon Computer Printers can be found in two forms. One is a traditional ribbon printer that operates using a ribbon ink cartridge and the other is a high performance laser printer that uses an ink ribbon cartridge. Ribbon printers have been steadily decreasing in popularity over the past few years. Laser printers have, however, become increasingly popular among both office users and consumers.

Photo Printers: One of the newer and more popular options available in the home printer segment is the digital photo printer. Photo printers work by utilizing a computerized photo paper in order to print high quality images. There are many different types of digital photo printers available for use in the home, including inkjet printers that utilize a single dye ink supply system, thermal printers that utilize hot air to print a range of colors, and solid ink photo printers that utilize inks similar to those found in fine scrapbook materials. In addition to offering a high quality print out, many of these types of photo printers allow the use of removable card stock in order to print photo blankets or photo cards.

All three of these options are great choices for anyone who is looking for a printer that can quickly and easily deliver a professional looking finish to their printing needs. The only thing left to do after determining which option is best suited for your home or business would be to decide which type of printer will best suit your needs. Most consumers have a preference between ink jet and laser printer. Laser printers are generally more expensive but offer the ability to print in higher resolution while ink jet printers offer a variety of printing methods that can be used in either full color, semi-transparent, or CMYK color printing. Depending on what you need to print, a specific printer will fit your printing needs.
