BB Cream / CC Cream / Foundation ? The Differences !

If you are new to makeup or even a long time wearer, then you know that trying to pick the right foundation formula can sometimes be like finding the perfect pair of nude high heels, too many choices and varying shades! ?When I had encoutered these terms of skin products, such as BB Cream and CC Cream, It was hard for me to understand the difference between them.
Knowing what kind of coverage you like is key, but understanding the level of benefit each product gives is essential.

BB CREAM : Blemish Balm, Beauty Balm ( skincare benefits )

Texture: Creamy and moisturizing
What it does: Offers daily sun protection, extra hydration, and a touch more coverage than a tinted moisturizer.
These products are multitaskers: a non-brightening primer, light foundation, moisturizer and sunscreen in one, with built in anti-aging properties.
BB Creams are lighter than most foundations, so this is a big plus if you don't like to feel the foundation on your skin.



CC CREAM: Color Corrective (skincare benefits + coverage)
Texture: Lightweight and fast-absorbing, oil-free
What it does: Imparts an airy veil of coverage and a boost of both instant and protective coverage. As the name suggests, color is used to cancel out redness, brighten and "blur" out imperfections.
Contains a skin brightening primer, light foundation, moisturizer, sunscreen, anti-aging ingredients and sometimes collagen boosters.

With so many different levels of coverage, you can opt for more sheer formulas or extreme levels of coverage. While most women opt for sponges or their fingers, the best way to apply foundation is with a brush.

BB Creams and CC Creams are an alternative for foundation. They are good if you want to skip many skincare products before using foundation as a primer and a moisturizer .

Use BB if:
Little to no blemishes
Looking for lightweight coverage
No color correction needed
->BB creams are excellent for skin that has minimum flawless and need minimal coverage but need a bit more nourishing than younger skin
Use CC if:
Need more coverage
Suffer from redness, blotchy skin and pigmentation.
Want a lighter formula than foundation.
->CC creams are for skin that need help and color correction.
Use Foundation if:
Need full coverage
Suffer from a more severe acne, redness
Want to last more than 12 hours

BB Creams have a lighter finish and offer slightly less coverage
The BB cream tends to be a bit heavier and better for dry skin, with a focus on prevention and maintenance, while the CC cream tends to be a tad lighter (so better for acne-prone skin) and focuses on concealing existing issues.
