There are several easy ways to disable Windows 10 Update. You can launch an elevated Windows Services dialog by pressing the Win +R key combination. Double-click on Windows Update to enter the dialog box.

Clicking on the System Restore button will display the previous configuration briefly on your laptop or desktop. It's almost like you were switching to another computer. However, since this is a utility that automatically runs on your system every day, you will only be seeing the previous configuration on the screen. It will not be saving any data onto your hard drive.
To get rid the Update Windows Vista XP feature, download the Windows 10 version of Service Pack. This can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. After downloading the spport file, launch the setup program you choose. It will then prompt you to install the updates and then it will complete the installation process.
