~A welder must strike and establish correct arc 'easily' and 'quickly'
+Basic Principles of Sustaining a Welding Arc
1.) Correct Current Setting

2.) Correct Electrode Angle
-if flat position (electrode is 90 degrees perpendicular to the flat metal) and slightly 10 to 20 degrees angle

-the distance between the tip of electrode and base metal
-(correct one is) kung anong size(mm) ng electrode yun rin ang distansya sa base metal
~too long kakalat yung weld
~too short ay hindi maganda ang penetration, hindi magkakaroon ng enough fusion in the base metal
~if it is ok (ripple- curve lines) is even
-needed rin na tama ang travel speed
~too fast- not enough electrode in certain place
~too slow- makonsumo sa electrode/ will be short
-bulky and the strength of metal will have an effect
+HEAT AFFECTED ZONE(HAZ) - gilid ng weld
4.) Correct Electrode Selection - needed a correct electrode that should have a properties of the 'base metal', type of joint, and the current
-if mild steel (pang mild steel rin na electrode)
-if stainless steel (pang stain less rin na electrode)
~E-7018- low hydrogen electrode
-hindi kaya mag produce ng high heat
-compare sa ac na continuous ang heat
+Before to Start need to check and adjust equipment
1.) Inspect lead connections that they are tight
2.) Make sure the bench top and base metal is dry and clean
3.) Select proper polarity
4.) Control unit
5.) Check cables, dapat walang crack and yung conductor is not visible
~jaw is well insulated and lever for release and under
~pagnakababa ang lever DC or blue ka titingen (sa loob)
~pagnakataas ang lever Dc or blue ka titingen (sa labas)
~wag bumili ng PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) na mura
~Striking Method- easiest kind of scrathing
+Depositing Continous Bead (E-6013) -filler electrode/ pantapal
+Depositing Continous Bear (E-7018) -filler electrode/ pantapal
-i preheat muna ang electrode/ dapat ilagay sa oven
-hindi ganun ka swak yung arc compare sa 6013
+Depositing Continous BEar (E-6011)-para tumagos ang weld sa kabila
-fast freeze
-high penetration/ pinakamalakas bumutas
-need maintain ang arc length or didikit ang electrode sa base metal
-manipis ang slug
-after weld need igrind
