Ocean Freight Meaning: What Is Ocean Freight?

What Are The Downsides Of Ocean Freight?

The risk of damage or destruction of ocean freight is higher than that of air freight. This is because it is in transit for a much longer time, and because ships move more easily. Ocean Freight Services

Most LCL shipments are priced by volume of goods, not by weight, with few exceptions.

If selecting the most cost-effective mode is a challenge, consider these general rules of thumb:

Over 500 kg, air freight becomes uneconomical.
The shipping cost for China-US shipments is approximately $2-$4 / kg, and the shipping will take anywhere from 30-40 days.
Shipping between 150 kg and 500 kg between China and the US can be economically handled through air freight at about $5-8 per kg and taking 8-10 days.
A few days faster, but more expensive, is express air freight.
Packages that weigh less than 150 kg can go by courier (express freight).
