TextEdit is a text editor and text processor that's free, easy, and works on all platforms. Since Apple's acquisition of NeXT, it is available as a GNUstep for Linux and MacOS X. Apple later renamed the program TextEdit to honor the original Tuxedo icon theme that was used in OS X. Tuxedo does not appear in the latest Mac OS X.

The text editing software has many tools that can be used for all types of writing, including proofreading, rewriting and formatting. You can access many more advanced features through the extension themes included with the software. The default application, version 7, is capable of editing only word documents, though newer versions have the ability to edit PDF documents, as well as some other types of text files. Some of its text editing capabilities include AutoFit cleanup utilities, which are very helpful for making sure that text documents are properly formatted for different file formats or platforms.


Textedit's most notable feature is the Word macro capabilities. Tách vocal allows you create large volumes of documents with just one click. The program has many font styles available, including small capitals and inherit. The textedit palette supports text commands such as insert, select and delete.

Text editor software often includes a document manager tool that allows you to organize and manage text files. This will allow you search for, rename, extract data, organize documents according your usual workflow. Many text editors also include a search facility, which enables you to locate all types of documents within your computer or online. You may also be able to view a selection of files in their native folders, as long as the selected text files have been created in the specified folder.

A textedit file is usually created using a word processing program such as Word Publisher, Macrium, or Publisher. The textedit application will open the textedit document and display a toolbar that contains many buttons. These buttons control various options in the document such as font, style and background colour, insertion style and comments, pictures, and other properties. There is an extensive list of features available in the full version text editor, including support for embedded images, embedded pictures, dates, times, centres, spaces, indentation, quoted text, spell checker, image and tab menu, and more.

Click on Help to access the extensive list of features. Next, click TextEdit menu and then click on Options. In the text editor options panels, click Insert. Select the Word object in the Insert group. Double-click any text item you want to insert in Edit. Click on any character you wish to align. To change the characters displayed, use the toolbar. Type the number or string of characters that you wish to align and hit the Enter key.
