Cordless snow blowers are very popular and many people own one, but they don't know much about them. In this article I want to explain the two different types of snow removing devices that are available on the market today. I am going to compare the characteristics of each type including how they work, the costs and benefits to owning them and whether you should buy an electric or gas powered model. By the end of this article you should have a better understanding of your options.
The first category is battery operated snow blowers. Most cordless snow blowers do not provide a great amount of power and most of them do not have an engine to run on. The advantage of owning a battery operated snow blower is you only pay for the usage time so even if you don't use it for a whole day you will still save lots of money on your energy bills. Unfortunately this type of equipment also has some disadvantages such as having to have a spare battery or needing to have a place to plug the equipment in. These are both costs you may need to factor into your decision when choosing.
Another type of equipment that is available is the gas powered types. Although these can be more expensive than a cordless snow thrower they do have several advantages. You can also forget about buying a cord, as they run on petrol which is easily portable and does not create any emissions. The disadvantage of these is they need a plug, they can get a little noisy and as they run on gas you do need to regularly change the oil which could get expensive.
One thing you might want to consider is using an electric snow fall electric machine. The main benefit of these is they do not need a cord, can be used on most surfaces and do not produce any noise. The main disadvantage is the initial cost, they are far more expensive than a gas-powered snow thrower but over time they will pay for themselves as you will save lots of money on your energy bills. If you purchase an electric model you should make sure you buy a high quality battery and chose a suitable size for your needs.
A final option you have is what is known as the cordless snow blowers. As the name suggests these run on batteries. The biggest advantage is that they are quiet, require no plug and are able to be used on all surfaces. Unfortunately there are a few disadvantages too. snow joe 24v-x2-sb15 cordless snow blower kit Firstly they are expensive to buy, secondly they are not very powerful and don't get very cold quickly.
So, to answer the question of which is the best cordless snow blowers? In my opinion the gas powered models are the best option if you want to be able to use the machine quickly and use it at a distance. The second best option is the battery-powered models, although you do get what you pay for. The problem is these tend to be a bit less powerful, although they don't need charging as often.
The cordless version are made for those people who are not big fans of the hassle of using a cord. You can walk right up to it and start it off, although sometimes it can be a little awkward when getting it upright for the first time. However the big plus with these is that you do not need a plug and socket and these are a lot lighter than their gas counterparts. This makes them ideal for those with poor mobility.
The standard blowers are usually between seven and ten inches long, but a seven-inch one will suit most needs perfectly and a ten-inch model should be good for light to medium-duty work. If you need a really tall or heavy snow blower then the models that are between fifteen and twenty-four inches will be suitable for your needs. The extra inches give you more room to cover an area and more room to work. So in conclusion, the size of your yard and how much you need to clear it will determine which of the cordless snow blowers will be the best choice for you. If you clear an area larger than twelve inches then the electric models will give you the best results and if you have a lot of ground to clear then the battery-powered models will be perfect for your needs.
