I was thinking about this earlier, and realized that once again, I was not being fair or appropriate with my words in my overly cloying message.
There may be a dozen personality traits which we admire in a person. However, none of us are epitomes of perfection. We know ourselves best. We see our own weaknesses, our struggles, and falls. While it is appreciated when someone sees in us qualities which we aspire to develop or admire, I realise it becomes constricting when we are constantly placed on a pedestal of expectations, and our whole-person self is not regarded. It's not fair for others to create total impressions of who we are based on a few facets which they see. I am doing this, and I apologize. This may arises from an attempt to convey that you are dear to me, but over time, I know that such one sided unrealism often becomes off-putting.
Things become clearer in retrospect, and it would behoove me to pause, and regard the dynamics before replying. Also, while I may feel a certain way, it was not respectful of me to use such an intimate caliber of speech.
