北京時間5月22日晚，英國曼徹斯特一室內體育館22日晚發生爆炸，事發時館內正在舉行演唱會。截止目前，警方已確認造成19人死亡、59人受傷。
據現場目擊者稱，爆炸發生在當地時間22時30分左右，演出剛要結束時突然聽見瞭巨響。據一位叫Lee Parkington的目擊者在facebook上稱， 後背帆布包 。

Lee Parkington在視頻一開頭就表明“請原諒我的粗口”，他在視頻裡說，“我的情緒就是和平時看見人死去時時一樣的，但是，周圍的人似乎都不太知道到底發生瞭什麼，當跑出門時，我們就從樓梯上跑瞭下來，在右邊看到有一個冒著煙的帆佈背包，整個通道都佈滿瞭煙，人們都在慌忙逃竄。Loreanc（音譯）看到有人倒在地上，周圍有人說是氣球爆炸瞭，但我覺得不是，應該是發生爆炸瞭。”
