i think that religious people should be allowed to divorce because if there marriage is breaking down or things like adultery or abuse is going on in the relationship they shall be able to divorce.Eventhough,divorce can ruin a family life i still believe that religious people should be able to divorce.
However Christian people believe that divorce is not acceptable.Christians believe marriage is a gift from god and is a holy blessing.In the Christian marriage ceremony vows are taken such as 'till death do us apart' if a Christian couple ends their marriage they are going against this vow which is a sin.Church of England is more accepting towards divorce if the marriage can not be fixed and the last resort is to divorce then it is accepted.Roman Catholics on the other hand,are against divorce because it is breaking up a family basis and going against gods promise.They only do annulments,cancellation of a marriage.
In Islam divorce is frowned upon but still is permitted.In the quran it states 'And if they decide on divorce – then indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.'If a muslim couple do decide to divorce they have a waiting time of three months-iddah- to make sure the woman is not pregnant then the couple is free to divorce the women recieves the final part of her dowery and then the marriage is ended.But muslims still to try to stay away from divorce.
In conclusion,religious people should have the freedom of being able to divorce yes they do make promises in front of god but if they have no other choice than getting divorce they shall do because god is merciful and is 'always ready to forgive.'
