• Centaurs berkepala manusia, dengan dada dan lengan yang melekat pada tubuh kuda. Warnanya bisa bervariasi.
• Dipercaya berasal dari Yunani, dan koloni mereka banyak ditemumakan di Eropa.
• Mereka tinggal di hutan, dan kementrian sihir secara eksklusif menyediakan hunian mereka.
• Pandai dan mampu berbicara. Mereka tidak suka dihina, terlebih menyangkut garis keturunannya.
• Mereka hidup berkelompok berkisar 10 - 50 anggota.
• Mereka digolongkan sbg hewan oleh Kementerian Sihir krn mereka tdk senang jika harus berbagi status 'Being' dengan hag & vampir.
• Centaurs mendapat klasifikasi XXXX bukan karena terlalu agresif, melainkan karena hewan ini diperlakukan dengan penuh hormat seperti unicorn & manusia duyung.
• Centaurs bukanlah makhluk setengah keturunan (manusia dan kuda), tapi terlahir dalam bentuk dan jenis centaurs sendiri.
• Mereka memiliki cara sendiri untuk melindungi dan menyembunyikan diri dari muggle.
• Centaurs dikenal memiliki kemampuan dalam magical healing, ramalan, pemanah dan Astronomi.
• Firenze (salah satu centaurs) pernah mengajar Ramalan di Hogwarts, dimulai pada tahun ajaran 1995-1996.
