The presenter is Nick Bostrom and he works next to mathematicians philosophers and computer scientists
I am interested in this subject because it's something I believe we could all agree on. We could all agree that technology is advancing so fast that it could get to the point that we can't control it because it may not need us anymore.im wandering if there is a stopping point where we decide we cannot take that step that that step is too far or we are to smart for our own good and take a step in technology that costs us more than it rewards us.
The summary of this talk is that we have no way to know how far artificial intelligence could take us or itself and there's no way to know if we are safe or not. We have no way of knowing what AI will do because it is the last invention we will ever need because it will be able to reinvent itself and update or upgrade itself. We should not be confident that we could control a super intelligence that if we could control it we would more need to create it to use its intelligence to learn what we value.
