Common Activist and Investor Strategies
What is an Activist? An Activist is a person who uses peaceful and constructive means to help create change. Sometimes they are also involved in political action to get the change they desire. There are many different types of Activists including business owners, students, writers, doctors, teachers, and clergy. There are Agency of Activism such as civil disobedience, direct action, social marketing, and eco-terrorists.

You may have heard the term "activist" but are not sure what it means. It is a generic term for non-violent direct action. Non-violent means that the actions taken are not violent. Some forms of Activism include teeveeing (in winter), tree sits (on trees in parks), handing out leaflets or pamphlets, and going door-to-door. Activists in different types of Activism demonstrate their beliefs in a peaceful and assertive manner in order to bring about change.

What is an Online Activist? Online Activists is individuals who use the internet to advocate causes, brings about change, or show support for a cause. This form of activism can take many forms. Some bloggers and podcasters go beyond blogging by participating in public discussions on various issues. Some social media users go beyond social media networking by using online forums and message boards to talk about politics, religion, alternative medicine, art, music, books, philosophy, etc.

What is an Internet Activist? Agency can be from anywhere in the world. However, they tend to be politically active bloggers who discuss different issues online. Some of these activists believe in social justice, while others believe in capitalism. All Activists agree that they are fighting for the same things but they have different opinions on how to go about getting there.

What is an Internet Marketing Activist? Internet marketing is a form of online activism. Internet marketing activists use blogs, videos, and websites to promote products and services of businesses or products of their own. Internet marketing is not equivalent to political activism because Internet marketing does not involve the manipulation of public opinion. Activists who engage in Internet marketing work to establish credibility for a website by creating buzz, sharing information, and engaging in public discussions.

What is an Internet Trader? Internet traders trade stocks and options on the over the counter market. Traders can buy or sell shares of a company that is publicly traded on exchanges such as the New York Stock Exchange or the NASDAQ stock exchange. Activist investors who participate in Internet Trader activities may do so to profit from the fluctuation of a company's stock price.

What is Agency ? Corporate Activists are corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs), partnerships, and other types of corporations that are engaged in shareholder conduct. Agency who are corporate activists are individuals who have purchased shares of a corporation or limited liability entity that are considered to be progressive, meaning that they are environmentally responsible, socially conscious, or both. The purchase of such stock by investors who are corporate activists helps them make a statement about their beliefs about socially responsible business practices.

What is an Alternative Capital Allocation? Alternative capital allocation strategies are strategies that vary from typical asset allocation strategies to alternative capital allocation strategies. Alternative capital allocation strategies include using short selling techniques, taking advantage of other people's loss of investment money, outsourcing certain investment tasks such as trading, or creating an entity that does not have any tangible assets to offer. Activist investors who practice alternative capital allocation may participate in political action related to corporations that do not behave in the way that they would like to see the country run. These investors work with groups such as lobbies or watchdog organizations to keep companies in line that they believe are not acting in the interests of regular citizens.
