It appears as if the katana had been stored for a very long time or handled much before it was sold to me. I would have given a five star if it would have had a blade that was better sharpened. Came sharp enough out of the box to cut through bamboo as said but definitely could be sharpened to a razor edge if you need it to be. You can see the continuation of the Damascus lines where the blade has been sharpened. If you look at the question and answer section for this sword someone asked if you can cut a watermelon.

Looks BEAUTIFUL! Came sharp enough to cut paper. 해외선물 and nearly indestructible. It's a little bit lighter than an average wooden bokken of the same size would be, but with none of the splintering that is an issue with wood. I wish I could give this seller more than 5 stars. First off pictures don't do this sword justice. Im satisfied with this purchased and I'm happy that I have a decent katana sword for my first time collection..I would recommend this to anyone interested for 1st time sword buyer who can't afford the handmade Japanese sword. Arrived on time. Sharp right out of the box . I will however keep it and attempt to buff out the rust then sharpen. I own a few swords, this one however is my favorite. There is a tiny dent on the front tsuba guard, (the piece between the tsuba and the blade that can't even be removed (at least I couldn't)) however it's so small it's hardly noticable unless the light hits it just right, so it doesn't bother me. I placed the order at 11 pm last night, and it arrived at 10 am this morning, that has to be the fastest shipping ever.

4th Katana ordered from HandmadeSwords and will continue to order from site! This is a great Katana and the price is very reasonable for the sword you are getting! I still look forward to getting a display stand and displaying this thing. Decent edge. The ronin-02 has the best edge of mine for the three but I like my collection to have different looking swords or at least saya/tsukas so this was necessary to add to the collection. It is high quality all the way, and I really like the thickness of the blade from the hand guard to the tip. The product is as described, and very high quality. Just as advertised. Very study build and tightly wrapped grip. It is just the way I like Katanas to be! Super sharp. Now I clear my house in style like a man. I haven't tested this sword yet, but it seem like the craftsmanship is very nice and durable for intermediate price tag. A good quality sword for the price. I know the blade passed the paper test, the sword is well balanced and it is a very nice looking sword.

Very well balanced. Good weight, good feel to it. I feel the difference between this, and my other pieces simply by holding it, the blade thickness, weight, and all around feeling of being well-built in both handle and blade, I make the comparison of holding a chefs knife to a steel handled, full tang machete. I've dealt with this material in other Cold Steel training weapons, and can testify to it's strength and durability. I usualy love cold steel knives. The profile of the tip is a couple millimeters off of symmetrical but otherwise the profile is great in that it can be profiled for any purpose without any extra effort or metal removal. Even though it was not manufactured in a traditional way, it is proof that modern manufacturing techniques can mass produce swords that any ancient samurai would have envied.

I don't think you can find a better sword for the money. For the price, You can NOT ask for anything better! It's durability will be tested I assure you but so far it's been a great practice weapon. It is truly a weapon to behold. This ia a real sword, not a cheap wall hanger. The blade is super sharp and nothing on the sword looks or feels cheap. Most of the length of the blade was dull except for the tip. The winner will probably hang it. This sword was bought to give away to the winner of the Kumite that I host each year. I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and he completely FLIPPED OUT ! I saw the layers on the sword that made it really stand out. Very well made. No loose fittings and razor sharp.
