Folding your hand if you see that your opponents have much stronger hands is never a bad idea. You don't have to win every poker hand. Sometimes it is wiser to play it safe than to play aggressively. It is OK to bluff every once in a blue moon, but not all the time. This way, your opponents will begin to read you too easily.

4) The player who has the lowest card value, as shown face-up, must place a small bet. This is called a "bringin" and the betting proceeds towards the left to the lower card player. Each player has the option to call, raise, and fold his cards.

The game starts with a betting bet from the player to the left of each dealer. This player pays the small blind. This is one mandatory bet in Texas Hold'Em. The big blind, or double the amount paid for the small blind, is then paid by the second person. The blinds are moved clockwise around the table so each player has a turn paying both blinds.

Let's see how the game actually plays. When starting a game, it's normal for each player to be dealt a card. The button or dealer button is given to the player with the highest card. The button acts as an indicator as to who is dealt cards first, and also who posts the blinds. The blinds are automatic bets that are made to ensure each pot has some money to play for (or there would be no incentive to play anything but the top hands). The blinds consist two automatic bets. The small blind is posted by player to the immediate right of the button and the big blind is posted to player two seats to its left. The small blind is usually half of the value of the big blind. After these bets have been posted, all players are dealt two cards face-down.

For example: If you are chasing flushes because you have three suited cards, then it is a good idea to look around the table. You should fold if you see a lot of cards from the same suit at the table. However, if you do not see many of that suit then there is a higher chance that you will get the cards that you want.
