How to Play Fan Tan
Fan Tan, or fan-tan is an old gambling card game long popular in China. It is fundamentally a game of pure luck and shares many of the characteristics with blackjack. It was developed within the province of Shang Dynasty around 700 BC. The game was played with cards, using the same deck of nine cards players playing regular card games would use.

The nine cards are laid out in the similar to the regular game. At the start of the game, each player is dealt two cards in a face-down position with one facing the other. There are two special rules in fan-tan, one that applies to the west, and the other for the east. This requires that the cards be laid face down from west-to-east. This can be confusing for beginners players.

After all the cards have been dealt, each player then selects a number between one and seven, counting from one to seven as the remaining cards to play. At this moment the dealer will then take the special card called the fan-tan and place it face-up on the table. This card is used to place bets betting. It is used for placing bets. The players write their numbers on the card. This is done with the 52-card deck.

Each player can only view one card at a given moment, therefore the cards are rotated one at a time. This card is known as the fan-tan jeng, or "master-card". The players are able to bet against one another however, they can also bet on a group or "tea bag". They may fold, but must first rotate the deck using their tea bags before folding. When the cards are turned over, they are ready for another game of betting.

At the end of the game, there's an option to bet the highest total on a single card this card goes to the loser. The dealer turns over all the cards and hands out five cards to every player. These five cards are called the "queenboard" and are pulled from an assortment. The dealer then hands out the contents of the deck, beginning with the fan-tan jeng and continues through to the final card called"the "king".

The game is finished when each player has received their final card. Everyone gets up, and the dealer announces that everyone has been required to leave the table. The game is over when everyone has betted the same amount on the same card (including the winner). The players all receive one card, and the dealer draws the card for the winner currently.

Players must add a card to their marked cards at the beginning of each new game. This is done by adding the card to the pile facing up before placing it on top of the pile. If more than one player need to add one card, the dealer will permit them to do so, but only one card at one time. Once the last card has been added the dealer will count the number of players left in the game. The last card is turned over to the left and then it becomes the deck that is distributed to each player.

Fan Tan is a Chinese popular entertainment, which was popularized by Westerners in the late nineteenth century. Today, it is often played as an add-on to card games like Hold'em, Texas Hold'em, seven-card stud, and the well-known solitaire game. Many variants of the game have been created, such as versions that include a seven-card stud or a seven-card fan-tan. You can even incorporate the joker into certain versions.
