We have found that 24-25 people is the best starting point for your season. We mix and match until our team has that number. On my personal teams, I usually lose 1 player before the season starts, they decide that football is not for them. We lose 1 player per game as the season progresses due to illness, injuries, grades, etc. For games and practices, we usually have between 22-23 kids available. This is the perfect number. 22 kids equals 11 on 11 in our football practice fit-and-freeze drills. If we have 22 players on the team, we can run our football plays against a scout defense with 11 players.

Even if you don't end up with a football scholarship, the better your grades and test scores, the better your chances are of landing some type of academic-based scholarship to help you get through college.

I urge you to put in the effort to figure out your passion while you're in high school. This will help narrow down your list of schools you want to attend, and allow you to focus on schools that offer the best programs related to what you love.
