Why Build An Electric Push Bike?
The pocket bike is completely electric as well. Installed with the unit are 12 volt batteries which will charge off of electricity out of the wall. A completely dead battery may take up to 12 hours to charge, but ones with a partial charge should complete after a mere 4 hours. You won't need to use gasoline for this bike, saving time and cutting back on pollution.

OUnder no circumstances should you buy a kit or E bike overseas. They are certainly going to be inexpensive but service and parts are non-existent. You are gambling the entire price of the bike against your need for service by buying this way. Always purchase from a reputable dealer especially one who is prepared to offer phone support should you encounter a difficulty.

This is the most important factor - the bike has to be light enough for you to carry around. Of course, it helps if you are tall and strong. But what about the ladies? Can they carry the electric folding bikes around without problems?


Secondly take a good look at the front fork and suspension. For a powerful motor say 350 watts and above if you are going to build a front wheel drive kit you will want to use a bike with a steel fork. The motor is simply too powerful for an aluminum fork and it will bend or break out the drop outs. You definitely do not want to use a shock absorber/suspension fork. The advantage of a front drive kit is that they are very easy to install. If you were to use a rear drive kit, then it is possible to go with aluminum and suspension front forks.

These bikes do have batteries, NiMH or lithium ion, which have to be charged. The average bike will run for at least three hours on a full charge. While at work or anywhere with electric plugs, the battery can be topped off. The range is about 20 to 30 miles, just perfect for a commuter. Some bikes also have integrated rear racks so it's even possible to get the grocery shopping done on a bike.
