This was the main reason to their survival and that of their race. We live in the 21st century. The world of gambling is now multi-billion dollar. What is it that draws a tough-minded businessman or an executive with a fancy degree; a testimony to the shrewdness and logic that has guided them through all aspects of their lives, to blow away their hard earned money in a single night in a notorious casino, makes for an interesting research project that sheds some light on the motives and desires of a mind which is constantly on the edge.

The first thing to do is be aware that gamblers of all kinds are not a part of the stereotype images that other non-gamblers are able to imagine of them. We're referring to stereotypes at the opposite end of this spectrum. One is a sophisticated, elegant, and feminine man who is knowledgeable about wine and has three tricks on his sleeves. The image is further emphasized by James Bond-like characters that make gambling glamorous and glamorous. On the other end exists the less fortunate cousin of this good-looking-devil. An inexperienced gambler might not fully comprehend the risks and rewards of gambling, but it is normal for them to continue. When you add the glamour and high-life associated with the profession it's an Herculean task to resist the bait. These games are typically designed in such a format where the gambler believes that his skill is improving and he is closer then ever to winning. If not checked, this will eventually turn into a habit and then becomes an addiction. Basically gambling plays on two universal emotions the desire to be a millionaire without actually slogging to win it and the dread of letting go of the dream, no matter the stakes.
