My mistake was not removing the teams from my enrollment. The problem was this team practiced across the street from Omaha's largest housing project and the kids had no other place to play football within walking distance. After the football practice that we held the first day was seen by the children in the area, more and more people started to come along, begging to be a part of the team. I'm not very good at turning away kids in need, and these were kids that needed the program more than we needed them, so I took them all. I had 3 teams the following year, and we had the coaches we needed in order to accommodate teams of 25.

To ensure you are in the best possible situation, I recommend maintaining a 3.0 GPA. A low GPA could mean that you are not being considered by schools.

As a football player, the footwork that you develop by guarding basketball players (even if they don't have an offensive game) can make a huge difference.
