The problem I was having was predictability. I'd become super predictable, and therefore super exploitable, by c-betting every single flop but folding to any sign of resistance. It was the easiest thing in the world to call my c-bet and then pull a float play on me.

The first tactic to do is play your positional advantage and keenly watch the 2 or 3 players sitting to the right of you. Your whole goal of the game is to just get these players money.

Your goal in the early stages of a Sit n Go tournament is to understand your opponents. Pay attention to how everyone is playing and make notes. When your M gets to 5, that's your all in zone. Pick the best hand you think you'll have of the round and go all in. If you're UTG, go all in no matter what you have. Do not take the blinds without going all in.

Most players will never go this sort of effort to learn how to play poker, they just prefer to use basic ideas and hope for luck - and if you rely on luck then luck indeed will rule your game and you will never amount to much of a poker player.
