A down is a penalty that a player makes when they attempt to kick the ball. Downs are the four attempts that a team with the ball has to make. These downs allow them to advance the ball 10 meters. Once the offense has gained 10 yards, they will receive another set. If they fail 10 yards after four plays, the opposition team gets the ball.
This step is not something I like because there are always unexpected variables. One example is that players are often moved to new positions, so it's possible to exclude schools from your interest if you don?t know what visit here would like to see you play.
This one is tricky. I would not recommend this to anyone under 18 years old. I know most high schoolers love coffee and the Femme Latte-crap drinks. But, something about taking caffeine in pill form causes problems. You are young, so you should be wired up to the roof.

Also, make sure to do position-specific drills to improve your technique. You might have the winning technique, and you never know.

To get a better idea of where you are talent-wise, try to attend some FBS (D1A), FCS (D1-AA), DII, and DIII games at schools in your area. This will let you observe, firsthand, the level of competition at each level so you can make a more realistic assessment.
You should make sure you have plenty of time to practice your skills. The more time you spend practicing the better your skills will become. As you've probably heard many times, practice makes perfect. If you want to be the best, you must put in the work.
