Poker - How to Play Poker
Poker is a card game where players bet on which hand will win, usually according to the rules. In poker, there are four basic hands: the Ace, Queen, King, and Jack. These hands have different rankings in poker, with Ace being the highest-ranking. The Ace is the highest ranking poker hand. The Jack is the lowest ranking hand in poker.

Poker hands consist mainly of the four suits - clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades. In a seven-card Stud Poker game, the main hand may be either the Ace, the Queen, the King or The Jack. There are three other types of poker hands; draw hands, full house and straight flush. The main poker hands are the Ace, Queen, King and Jack. They all combine with seven card stud poker.

Stud poker is a type of poker played in the seven-card stud. In stud poker, the player bets down to a certain amount, called the base. The studs are the cards that are dealt after the base has been touched. Once the studs have all been dealt, the bets on the pot will increase one for each stud at the table. The player can call (buy) and fold (quit). In a seven-card stud poker game, the player may only raise if there's at least seven players.

The pot increases if the player who has the best hand wins. The same thing happens if you have the second best hand. The dealer calls after the third and fourth consecutive bets in succession. After that, another bet is placed on the table. The player with the best hand has the option to call (quit) and raise (making him a winner). If he raises, the pot will increase and so will the stack of cards. The dealer will deal new cards to the player with the best hand.

Limit Hold'em (a variant of Stud Poker) is another variation. Limit Hold'em is a game in which each number in the deck is dealt three cards face-down. This is the maximum amount that can either be raised or bet upon the completion of all the cards. The minimum amount is established and the player is prohibited from going below it. Dealers may request a raise if the player falls below the minimum.

Straight flush is when all cards are in one pile. A flush is also possible with four of a type. The pot is exactly the same as with flushes. A straight requires the player to bet the same amount as the high card plus three lower cards. The same rules apply in a five-card flush. However the bet must now include both the high card and two lower ones, inclusive of the Ace King, Queen, Jack, and Deuce.

Some variations of hold'em may require betting after the flop. The dealer button is raised before the betting begins. This forces players to cover both flops. Once the flop has taken place, the dealer button will be replaced by a "byecard" symbol. This symbol tells players that betting will cease after the dealer presents his cards. Betting can resume after the flop occurs. These sessions are known as riverings.

The river is the bet that the player makes. It is a straight bet. If his opponent's hand wins, and there are more cards than during the flop, then his hand wins. So, for instance, if a player bets and his opponent's hand wins, then he takes the pot. If he places a bet and his opponents win, then he wins the pot. The amount of his bet is deducted from the pot. If all the pots have been dealt out and there aren't any more raises in the pot, then the pot can be called a straight, flush, or full-limit pot. Any other special pots can be called "expert payments".
