Online video storage can be unstable. Some sites may shut down or cease business. Here's how to backup your social media videos to your personal computer.

My story isn't an epic one. I was born, went to school, worked, then finally got some information online. But it also includes a few devastating moments, where I believed that everything was gone forever. One of these was when the computer in my home suddenly stopped working. After a bit of tweaking, shifting the hard drive from my old drive to the new drive, and installing an entirely new desktop, all my work was restored. It took me three days of sweating and crying... I've learned one thing. It is possible to automate or manually back up my day's work using Dropbox and personal FTP servers, so that nothing will ever be lost.

This is definitely not the ideal solution. You will have to pay more to maintain your online data store. It's easy to use and seems to be safe. It's easy to access and can be downloaded from any place there is internet. What happens if you don't have access to internet? I'm glad to have my laptop on me for those times. It's my only secure backup location. I have two drives there with one for each HDD. This allows them to duplicate each other, and makes sure that only one copy is left in the event of a failure. I only copy stuff there, mostly, so seldom do I make my laptop work, this way I am hoping 2 drives won't go out in the same day..

Another day of great sadness was a few months ago. I am very careful not to lose all my work, and as I stated in the previous paragraph, and now I copy it multiple times and can access it wherever internet is available. It was Periscope. It was a tool I used a lot a few years ago, and even during the riots in 2020, I did several live streams. But Periscope TV suddenly closed, and all the videos are expected to disappear in several weeks. What do I do? download youtube online I'm looking to download all my videos and save them on my computer. The videos are important for me. I was there with my friend at the time he disappeared from the radar of Covid. It's like it was just a matter of time.

his site I frequent, it helps me download videos from Youtube, Instagram and Facebook among other places that contain most of my live streams. I am into politics and underground movements, and so I record a lot of live events, store them for future use and then publish them on my Youtube channel, and when the live stream ends, I save the footage to my laptop. This is the way I do it. This allows me cross-post videos to different platforms. Not only can I share Youtube videos on Facebook however, I can also upload that video directly to Facebook. It's its own video. As it is, I have three TB of live feeds I've conducted over the past eight years. Periscope will not go away.. It truly helps me.

It works like a charm. The video I wish to save to Periscope or Youtube is opened. I then copy the URL by using the share button. Then I navigate to the video downloader site and paste video link where they want it, press the big button and within moments I am presented with options to download video, save it on my laptop or desktop, to transfer it to other platforms and simple preserve it for the people I know and love. Periscope is not available on all sites. The site has the ability to manage m3u8 file that other websites download for you. I then navigate to the site for downloading videos and paste my video link wherever they would like it. Then, I press the on the big button. Video doesn't download to my personal computer, but it's available online and can be played online as the player loads tiny fragments in a sequence.

Windows copy can be used to join these fragments in one single file. This happens because of the format of Mpeg TS for video (or transport stream) which is used for video fragments. It is a complete set of data needed for decoding video in each fragment. Each stream is started from the middle with no interruption. It also helps save information because it only downloads the files which are relevant to what you are watching. For instance, if you only view only 25 seconds of the stream the player downloads only 3-4 fragments. Additionally it will download the next couple of fragments. This lets you reduce the amount of data you need by downloading only 25 seconds of stream video.
