The Professional Gambler
Let me begin by describing what this article is about. The Professional Gambler is not the famous player who is making a lot of noise and calling attention to himself. The professional gambler does not make the high-roller wagers. No, the real pro is a calm, reserved professional player. The professional gambler knows that in order to remain ahead the competition, it is essential to treat gambling as a business; a profitable business.

Professional gamblers don't "go out to enjoy a day (or evening) of betting." The professional would not assume that he/she would be playing all night. In reality, the professional typically knows within the first 30 minutes of playing whether or not to continue playing or call it a day. When a professional gambler is going to play, it is specifically designed to succeed, not to amuse his or her friends. This is work. It's a job. It's difficult to determine how long it will take for either to win enough or to lose enough. However, a pro can recognize these limitations and will have the discipline and ability to act according to the rules.

It is possible that you've played with professionals at times. It's unlikely that you'll remember. The only thing that will really draw attention to an experienced player is when the winner is then stopped. He doesn't hang out and keep playing because he/she believes that is "out to enjoy a night of betting." If professional gamblers wish to entertain themselves go to a show or a movie. Gambling isn't just an "activity", as many people view it. You can gamble all night long in Vegas or Atlantic City. This is how recreational gamblers make money. They find it very easy to rationalize...something like this; "Well I played all night and it only cost me $200. It's not too bad for an evening of entertainment and complimentary drinks." This is the tourist mentality. Oh sure, you might hear stories of how someone was in Vegas and won thousands. It's true. It is likely. However, you will likely be hearing the story that goes:
"I was up to three or four hundred, but I lost it all back." Professionals will never ever make this claim. If someone is gambling for a profit, they will realize that 3-4 hundred dollars is a healthy gain and soon gone.

Professional gamblers are known as guerrilla fighters. They are not there for a marathon playing spree. Again, the professional is there to win. It's not long before they win or lose, and definitely not every day. There is a chance that they will get an unlucky streak of winning and trust me when I say that the professional will notice it and follow through to the finish. Most of the time, however, the pro's game will last just enough to earn profits or be able to lose the entire amount. When a professional wins big, there is no chance that the casino will see that money again. The pro is much too smart to give casinos a chance.

The professional is way too knowledgeable to believe that there exists any system that can consistently beat casinos, no matter which game they are playing. Strategies and betting strategies that have been tested are used by professional gamblers to increase their odds of winning. Very few decisions will actually be taken at the moment of play. The majority of professional's decisions are taken before they even begin to play. Professionals stick to their existing strategies and betting progressions. There is no way to witness the pros "chase his winnings." Pros can and will accept occasionally losses. It's what happens. It occurs. There will be days where you make very little or no money, and even lose money when travel expenses are included. The professional gambler instead, is able to see the totality of their play. It's not "how much did I win or lose today?" instead, it is more of, "how much am I ahead of the rest of the next month or the entire year?"

Professional players in poker are one of the subjects I would like to mention. They're in a league of their own! In laptop , some poker players don't see themselves to be gamblers. free games to play believe that poker is an activity that requires skill and they're extremely proficient. Professional poker players isn't like the one I described earlier. In the near future, I'll likely write an article about them. They're certainly an interesting breed!
