Throw away the pillowcase and back away from it. The linen may be reclaimed as soon as the snake has fled.

As an alternative, you could try to shoo the snake into a large garbage bag if the above method is too direct. By placing the bin on the ground and using a broom, guide the snake into it. If you run into the snake, do not hit or push it; you do not want to injure it. A rubbish bin with smooth sides prevents snakes from climbing out and allows safe relocation.

A pillowcase and a shirt will work as a pest screen if your snake is inside your house. Scoop up your shirt or light blanket and place it in the pillowcase with the snake.
