Sagame - A well-known gamer Competition
The Sagame name is a relatively common one and the province was first established in the prehistoric period. While there aren't many remains from this period of time, the Kofun period is still in existence. This region was part of the Kanagawa Prefecture from the Nara period until it was added to the Tokaido Province. The district is located on the western coast of Kanagawa and it is possible to see remnants from this time.

The concept of sagamai applies to both women and men regardless of their religion. In a word it symbolizes pure love. In hinduism, sagamai is believed to be to be good in all religions. In fact, it has become the defining symbol of eternal life to many people. The Sagami province was a stronghold in the Sengoku period, which was under control of the Hojo clan. It was also a hotly contested territory in the Kamakura era. The province was part the Kanto region under the Tokugawa Ieyasu. The rest of the province was managed by the Tokugawa shogunate and the hatamoto administrators.

South African residents are eligible to take part in the competition. The games must be made available by the deadline. All copyright rights to the creations of the participants remain theirs. All games must be written using the language they prefer. There is no limit to the number of entries. The only requirement to be eligible is that the game must be playable and contain all the files necessary to run it. Also, the games must be playable by the deadline. The SA GAME JAM is an annual event, sponsored by Free Lives, and aimed to inspire more South Africans to learn game development.
