Today Shaqueen Hunt had to be restrained after loudly yelling that she was “Not the one” and she had been “waiting for this”. For weeks now I’ve been walking on egg shells around Shaqueen as she is frequently attitudinal with me for reasons due to her personal home life stress we had discussed earlier. My daily routine with her consists of me coming into work and being greeted by an eye roll, me saying hello, being jovial and winning her over and getting her in a good talkative mood. Once I did this he’d be nice and we’d carry on with the rest of the day as friends. As time went on she progressed to when she would see me come in for my shift after hers she’d cast off to me her equipment, finish what she was working on and and go do whatever else she wanted. On light work days I would work around it and get on with the job. There have been a couple heavy work days where she’s abandoned her work and left it to me. As times gone on I simply stop catering to her moods and left her in whatever attitude I found her in that day. I worked and only engaged her as needed.

We have a system in Fulfillment whereby the current days work is loaded onto a pallet and pull to the bay doors. And it is understood that you carry any subsequently packaged orders to the bay door instead of dropping them in the fulfillment boxes. This works to make sure that all packages are conveniently located where team leads and management have access to them for a quick loading onto the USPS or FedEx trucks. This way the delivery men do not have to wait for orders to be loaded onto the pallet and the team leads or member management don’t have to load the pallet or pull said orders to the door. This is also a convenient strategy when there is an abundance of orders and the limited space available for storing them is running out as it was today.

When I saw the storage area getting full, I asked a coworker to get me some storage totes and load the packages into those storage totes on the pallet and ready time for departure. As I did so Shaqueen interjected and very rudely and in a nasty tone contradicted my instructions to our coworker and said she “did not feel like doing all that walking today!”. After a few moments of being stunned by the unnecessary rudeness I continued the conversation I was having with my coworker and I simply said something to the effect ”that was rude”. To this Shaqueen turned around and confronted me. Yelling “What did you say?”,she was “not the one”, and she “had been waiting for this”. I clearly took this to mean that she had been readying herself for confrontation with me because I had stopped working around her moodiness.

In better times, Shaqueen and I have discussed some of what she has going on at home with feeling stressed, out of sorts and overwhelmed with the new baby, boyfriend and her mother but it is not OK for her to bring her issues to work and mistreat me as an emotional outlet

Shaqueen‘s profane outburst was absolutely outlandish and completely and totally unnecessary. It speaks to just how temperamental she is that just simply hearing the truth that she was being rude to me set her off to the point where 4 to 5 different coworkers including a manager felt it necessary to restrain her and remove her from the warehouse. It’s clear that they thought from her behavior that she was capable of acting out violently.

Her words of “I have been waiting for this“ indicate that she had been angry for a while and was ready to unleash it.

I was shakend by her behavior. It was completely unnecessary and a totally disproportionate response. I’m very grateful that I was not harmed.
