Kepala Bidang Tanaman Pertanian, Distan Kabupaten Gorut, Novicawati Suwito mengatakan, pendaftaran tersebut dilakukan untuk mengembangkan tanaman Tanduk Rusa yang bisa dikelola dan dijadikan sebagai aset daerah.
"Ini pun dilakukan untuk menjaga serta memelihara keberlangsungan tanaman tersebut agar tidak cepat punah,” ucap Novicawati.

"Berhubung saat ini masih dalam masa pandemi, jadi semua pendaftaran itu kami lakukan secara daring lewat website yang tersedia,” ucap dia.
Hortikultura Dalam waktu dekat juga, kata Novicawati, pihak Pusat Perlindungan Varietas Tanaman dan Perizinan Pertanian, Kementan didampingi Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Provinsi Gorontalo akan melakukan peninjauan langsung keberadaan tanaman tersebut.
