Seperti dikutip Thailand Business News, Direktur Jenderal Perundingan Departemen Perdagangan Thailand, Oramon Sapthaweetham mengatakan ekspor buah ke-18 negara yang memiliki FTA dengan negara itu terus mengalami peningkatan.
Total nilai perdagangan buah ke negara mitra FTA Thailand telah mencapai 461 juta dolar AS atau mencakup 94,94 persen dari total ekspor buah Negeri Gajah Putih.
“Ekspor buah ke-18 negara yang memiliki FTA dengan Thailand, tumbuh 107 persen dalam dua bulan pertama 2021, dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun lalu,” katanya.

Negara yang menjadi importir utama buah dari Thailand antara lain Cina, Malaysia, Singapura, Indonesia, Filipina, Hong Kong, Australia, dan Chili, terutama komoditas durian segar, manggis, lengkeng dan mangga.
Menurut dia, eksportir buah Thailand mendapatkan keuntungan dari hak istimewa FTA.
“Mereka didorong untuk memanfaatkan hak istimewa FTA untuk meningkatkan pangsa pasar dan menciptakan nilai lebih,” katanya.
Untuk diketahui, Thailand kini menjadi negara terbesar ke-7 dalam kegiatan ekspor buah. Posisi itu menjadi peluang bagi petani dan pedagang dalam memperluas pasar terutama ke negara yang sudah memiliki FTA dengan Thailand.
Kewajiban petani buah di Thailand hanya harus menjaga standar produk, meningkatkan kualitas produk, memenuhi permintaan pasar, beradaptasi dengan lingkungan perdagangan baru selama masa pandemi, dan membangun kepercayaan konsumen.
