In today's world, as we go through the midst of the pandemic, people find themselves communicating more and more through online social media such as messenger, twitter, and instagram. But as more people get vaccinated a lot of people are now using the old way of communicating, which is face-to-face communication. Which begs the question of whether face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication? so let us find out.

Firstly, in face-to-face communication, you can get a direct response and show a way to express yourself. When talking to friends or family, we can immediately get a verbal response, not only that we can observe their body language and facial expressions which is extremely helpful to know if they are saying something true or not. In face-to-face communication Body language is extremely important when it comes to communicating as it is a way to express yourself and to show the true meaning of what a person means when they say something.

Second, Face-to-face communication can be less expensive. When you are trying to communicate with others using, emails, letters, and telephones, you tend to purchase WI-FI or cellular data which is a hassle as they can be expensive since you'll have to pay for it each time you use it. Lastly, emails or letters can take a long time for the other person to receive, and sometimes calling a person on the telephone can be troublesome as they can be unreachable.

Comparing all this to written communication, it can be hard to tell what kind of body language, and facial expressions they're making while writing those letters. Written communication lacks spoken emphasis, having a lack of spoken emphasis can lead to misunderstandings. If a person misreads a single word or phrase that you wrote to them, it can change the way the person understands what you wanted to say, and if you're trying to be sarcastic or make a joke, it can go straight over other people's head. So it is sometimes hard to use written communication because of this.

In conclusion, if I were to choose which is a better way of communicating, I would choose face-to-face since a lot of conversations need to be had in person. Tones need to be heard, facial expressions need to be seen. Because even though with all the technological advancements we had in the past few decades, face-to-face communication will always be the most powerful form of communication.
