North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by Animal Control officers, in the end a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location where all glue could be removed from its body.
As WRAL's cameras captured it earlier in the day, a striped snake slithered out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive and onto a porch. When it lifted its head to look around, its hood was visible.
After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
911 call from that same home sparked the search in the early morning Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Following hours of consultation and preparation by police and animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was captured on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, highlighting the nearly 48-hour ordeal across North Carolina.
Cobra was placed in red bucket and moved to a safe location to fully remove glue from its body.
WRAL's cameras caught the snake the previous day crawling onto the porch of a house on Sandringham Drive. Its hood was visible when it raised its head to look around.
The Wildlife Control officers moved camera crews back after confirming that this is the snake, then went in to attempt to capture it.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
It makes me really happy and I feel much more secure, she said. Now that I can go outside, I can walk on my deck and go outside. Even so, I feel kind of sorry for the snake.
A striped snake lies out on a porch in a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra has disappeared.
Even a morning walk with your dog becomes dangerous due to the snake's ability to spit up to nine feet and be as fast as a zebra cobra. The African Snakebite Institute reports that this snake is very dangerous. As a result of the venom, a victim's nervous system could shut down.
Someone who is bitten by the poison of a cobra would feel pain, swelling, gastrointestinal irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. The symptoms would be a heavy fever and breathing problems that could lead to respiratory failure.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian with Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats an array of animals.
Normally, this cobra species does not bite. Generally, they squirt their venom a lot and shoot straight for the eyes, she said.
She is not recommending it for pets, due to its risks.
Most bites occur when a person is sleeping. The effects of being bitten may last for years, according to research.
Police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place on Tuesday, near where the cobra was last seen.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. On Monday and Tuesday, they returned after spotting the zebra cobra on a porch about a half mile away.
According to county records, Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. On a Facebook page associated with Keith Gifford's name, he posts photos of snakes owned by his son, Christopher.
On TikTok, Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. His posts claim he has a 7-foot zebra cobra.
