"Banjir akibat Sungai Ogan meluap pada Sabtu merusak ratusan hektare kebun jagung di desa kami," ujar seorang petani jagung asal Desa Belatung, Kecamatan Lubuk Batang, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), Ucok, Senin (24/5/2021).

Dia mengatakan tanaman jagung yang baru ditanam petani hanyut dan terendam banjir bahkan tertutup lumpur. Akibatnya, petani harus menanggung kerugian cukup besar karena dipastikan gagal panen.
Peternakan “Untuk lahan jagung saya saja ada sekitar lima hektare yang tidak bisa dipanen akibat banjir," katanya.
Kepala Desa Lubuk Batang Lama, Jus Imani menambahkan banjir tahunan selalu berdampak pada hancurnya lahan pertanian warga di desa itu. Akibat banjir kali ini, 80 persen lahan yang ditanami petani mengalami kerugian cukup besar karena gagal panen.
Dia berharap ada perhatian Pemerintah Kabupaten OKU melalui dinas terkait untuk memberi bantuan bibit kepada petani agar bisa kembali menanam ulang lahan yang terendam banjir.
