~Meteor~
Meteor adalah penampakan jalur jatuhnya meteoroid ke atmosfer bumi,biasanya disebut juga sebagai bintang jatuh,penampakan tersebut disebabkan oleh panas yang dihasilkan oleh tekanan ram.
>>>Tekanan yang dihasilkan oleh benda bergerak dengan kecepatan supersonik di dalam medium fluida (gas atau cairan).Tekanan tersebut menghasilkan gaya hambat yang besar pada benda yang dikenainya.<<<
Pada saat meteoroid memasuki atmosfer,meteor yang sangat terang melebihi penampakan planet Venus dapat disebut dengan bolide.

Jika suatu meteoroid tidak habis terbakar dalam perjalanannya di atmosfer untuk mencapai permukaan bumi,benda tersebut dinamakan meteorit.
Meteor yang menabrak bumi atau objek lain dapat membentuk Impact Crater.

~Meteorit~
Meteorit adalah batu meteor yang berhasil mencapai permukaan planet Bumi.
Meteorit dapat disebut meteor setelah menembus atmosfer bumi,tetapi belum mencapai permukaan Bumi.
Untuk meteorit besi,biasanya benda tersebut terbuat dari perpaduan besi-nikel kristal.
Dan yang paling langka adalah jenis Stony-Besi.
2 klafisikasi meteorit stony :
• Chondrites
Terbentuk dari batuan silikat cair, dan salah satu tipe penting dalam chondrite adalah carbonaceous chondrite. Meteorit tipe ini mengandung senyawa carbon, air, dan materi volatil lainnya dan memiliki warna yang agak gelap.
• Archondrites
tidak memiliki chondrules dan secara tampak tidak terlihat adanya logam atau sulfida logam. enampakannya juga mirip dengan batuan di permukaan bulan dan planet kebumian. Umur batuannya sekitar 4,5 miliar tahun, batuan yang lebih muda umurnya diperkirakan berasal dari materi yang dilontarkan dari permukaan Mars.
