What's the difference between Windows 10 Home or Pro?
What is the different from Windows 10 Pro and Home and which version is right for you?





Previously, we covered the differences between the various editions and architectures for Windows 10 available. After having an understanding of the differences, it can be difficult to choose the right one for you and your preferences. Admittedly, it can be a bit confusing. Microsoft is a distributor of a variety of SKUs (and the company is often made fun over it). At the end of the day, your decision will be based on the Home and Pro.







Which Edition Of Windows 10 Should You Choose?

It is the natural successor of Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate as well as Windows 8/8.1 Pro.








Windows Update Customization


Windows 10 Home embraces Microsoft's service-oriented architecture. Updates and fixes are a must, and you have little option but to install them. Updates and fixes are mandatory. Another feature that's not yet included in Windows 10 Home is BitLocker Drive Encryption. One of the arguments to not include BitLocker as a Home feature is the complexity of it, which I consider to be a weak argument. A few years ago, operating systems never came equipped with the Firewall due to the fact that they were believed to be too complicated and intruding. Actually, Windows XP Home initially came with an option to have the Windows Firewall turned off. After the release, Windows XP SP2 enabled it and bidirectional support was added with Windows Vista Home editions.





Also, I think the argument that incorporating BitLocker to Windows 10 Home would prove difficult for users to work with without. If you buy Surface Book or Surface Pro, you will be able to use BitLocker. Microsoft Surface Pro or Surface Book the devices are equipped with the Pro edition of Windows 10 installed, and BitLocker is activated by default. I'm sure Microsoft will not be promoting these devices only for businesses developers, large corporations. In fact, many of the feedback from Microsoft's Surface Facebook page are from users who use these tablets at home. One could say that the perceptions of an Windows 10 Home and Pro user are blurring.








Hyper-V


There are also advanced options that users who use home environments may consider using. A built-in virtualization solution like Hyper-V could be the best solution to compatibility issues with older applications. With each new version of Windows 10, the real chance of compatibility issues arising. For many home users running the one app from the past that gets broken by the latest update, an in-built solution such as Hyper-V can help smooth the process. Even the brand-new Quick Create feature in Hyper-V seems targeted at novice users who aren't used to these features.








Language Packs


It's not uncommon these days to visit homes that has families speaking a variety of tongues. Windows 10 Home does support languages, but the confusion about the different versions of Windows 10 that are based on a single language make it difficult to tell whether it does officially support it or does not. Windows 10 Pro comes out in the box with the ability to install and download different languages.








Windows 10 Pro Features Other Windows 10 Pro Features


The rise of BYOD - bring your own device - has changed the dynamic of how we use computers. People running Windows 10 Home will sometimes find on the start menu that it appears to advertise apps you can download through the Store. Such features are very difficult to get rid of and might even become mandatory for future versions.

Windows 10 Pro seems like the ideal choice for users as it's an all-purpose operating system, and even features that are considered to be worthy in a home environment are now exclusive to Pro with each new version. Therefore, if you are able to switch to Pro or avail this Pro Pack upgrade. It's true that it costs some more but with the brand new Free upgrade benefits it is a great investment. Windows 10 Pro only gets more valuable with each update.
