Testing at RichieRichLabs has shown us that Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost is taking the game to 4K - 60 FPS with the Xbox Series X. This news is a wonderful present for us next generation owners and future ones since it is always improving the Xbox Series X|S an even better value with each passing of time.

This is because it hasn't received an optimized for Xbox Series X|S update which could bring the resolution of it to a higher level, the Xbox Series S to a higher level, as it is operating on the Xbox One S settings, nevertheless, it's a great upgrade at no cost in case we do not receive an optimized version for Xbox Series X|S upgrade or remaster later on in the future.
The Xbox One X has the same game settings as the Xbox Series X which are higher resolution and performance mode which now both are available on Xbox Series X are giving us 60 FPS, with the performance mode giving 1080p, which I wouldn't recommend using unless you really need locked 60 FPS or you don't have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to compensate for those flaws.
I personally don't worry to much about it since I do own VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) TV, however even if I didn't, I wouldn't be concerned about it since the game does not drop the FPS frequently and it's not a competitive game so the drops aren't so important.
As a side note, VRR won't be sufficient to be sufficient if it fell below 50 FPS often since VRR is able to mask drops as low as 50, but not below that otherwise it wouldn't make a difference; yet the drops aren't common.
There won't be any graphical updates as it's an enhancement behind-the-scenes of FPS only. I checked the loading and there was no change.
As a side note, I bought this game in a sale, but I did not play it until it was released on the Xbox Game Pass which made me feel dumb to not have waited. I got over it though because it ended in a halt and I like to own my games as much as I can with the exception of Microsoft first party ones since they'll be on the Xbox Game Pass indefinitely cause Microsoft owns the studio.
