一般來說，隔離霜是在護膚工作之後，底妝產品之前使用的。在完成肌膚的基礎護理之後，將殘留在手部的護膚品清潔幹凈，擦幹水漬，然後就可以準備開始塗抹隔離霜瞭。
1、先在手背上擠出適量的隔離霜，註意避免使用過量。
2、用指腹輕輕地將隔離霜點塗在臉部肌膚位置，先對兩頰突出的肌膚部位進行塗抹，由內向外將隔離霜推勻，註意動作要輕柔；然後易出油的鼻翼部位，可以利用粉撲輔助塗抹，采用按壓的方式將隔離霜塗抹均勻，使妝效更為服帖不浮粉；下巴部位的隔離霜塗抹，建議使用指腹打圈的方式來進行；而用於眼部肌膚，則是從眼頭向眼尾方向，用指腹輕輕地按壓進行塗抹隔離霜；還有一些容易被忽略的位置，如發際線、嘴角、頸部肌膚等地方，都是建議使用粉撲輕輕均勻拍打上隔離霜，使整體的膚色更加均勻。
3、隔離霜使用之後，可以再進行塗抹防曬霜，然後才進行上妝。一般來說，隔離霜具有防曬效果，但不是專業的防曬產品，因此，建議在隔離霜之後再繼續塗抹防曬霜，以達到更好的肌膚防護效果。
隔離霜是在妝前使用的，那在隻使用瞭隔離霜的情況下，是否還需要卸妝呢？相信這也是讓彩妝新手困惑的一個問題。
其實，很多人會陷入一個誤區，認為隻使用隔離霜是不算化妝的，單單隻是護膚作用，不會對皮膚造成任何影響。因為隔離霜具有隔離作用，本身就含有一定的功效性成分，加上長時間與肌膚直接接觸，會吸附肌膚表層的油脂和污垢，因此，更建議在清潔肌膚時，先使用卸妝產品對肌膚清潔卸妝，然後再使用潔面產品，避免隔離霜殘留在肌膚上。
其實，隔離霜怎麼用才是正確的不隻是關乎隔離霜的塗抹手法，還需要從隔離霜的挑選、堅持做好基礎護膚、後續做好防曬等方面進行的。好的妝容效果是給他人看的，內在的護膚保養自己才知道。
