Melalui Prof. Moody Harry dan teman-temannya mengenal 3 mantra kutukan tak termaafkan yaitu Avada kedavra, Imperio, dan Crucio. setelah itu pada akhir cerita Mad-Eye Moody bukanlah Moody yg sesungguhnya, alias ada yang versi palsu. dia yang menggunakan ramuan polyjuice untuk menyamar sebagai Mad-Eye Moody adalah Barty Crouch Jr. dan Barty Crouch Jr adalah seorang abdi Voldemort. Lalu dimana Alastor Mad-Eye Moody yang asli? Ia disekap Oleh Barty di dalam sebuah peti ajaib.
Moody yang asli dibiarkan hidup oleh Barty karena ia membutuhkan rambut Alastor Mad-Eye Moody yang asli untuk digunakan di dalam ramuan polyjuice untuk bertahan menjadi Moody palsu. Nasib buruk yang dialami oleh Alastor Mad-Eye Moody (Palsu) sejak ia, Barty C. Jr yang pada saat itu berniat untuk membunuh Harry Potter. Tetapi digagalkan oleh Dumbledore, Prof. Snape, dan Prof. Minerva. Barty Crouch berakhir dengan kehilangan jiwanya akibat dihisap oleh Dementor sebelum ia di introgasi oleh Cornelius Fudge.
