Ia yang mengenalkan mantra Avada Kedavra, Crucio, dan Imperio kepada harry dan ron. Setelah itu pada akhir cerita Mad-Eye Moody bukanlah Moody yg sesungguhnya atau palsu. Yang menggunakan ramuan polyjuice untuk menyamar sebagai Mad-Eye Moody adalah Barty Crouch Jr. Barty Crouch Jr adalah seorang abdi Voldemort. Lalu dimana Alastor Mad-Eye Moody yang asli? Ia disekap Oleh Barty di dalam sebuah peti ajaib. Moody yang asli dibiarkan hidup oleh Barty karena ia membutuhkan rambut Alastor Mad-Eye Moody yg asli untuk digunakan di dalam ramuan polyjuice untuk bertahan menjadi Moody palsu. Tetapi digagalkan oleh Dumbledore, Prof. Snape, dan Prof. Minerva. Barty Crouch berakhir dengan kehilangan jiwanya akibat dihisap oleh Dementor sebelum ia di introgasi oleh Cornelius Fudge.
