Bring your tablet, laptop and even your smartphone with you camping with your kids.

This is something I've learned by trial and error. My mother is a constant cheerleader throughout the week, encouraging me to plan and keep in mind this. My excitement about going on my first camping trip, with my grandchildren and my kids was all that I shared with my mother. Today, she's everywhere, giving tips and advice on every possible scenario. I don’t mind my mom’s speaking. But watching her lecture makes things uncomfortable. Therefore, I attempted to wrap it all up more quickly than I was supposed to. This was a huge error that I realized the following day...or two.

We left with our car to drive it all to the campsite. I wanted to recreate the same kind of camping experience that I had with my father in the past, so I chose one of the remotest places which, as it turned out later was located in a huge area that was not serviceable. The smartphones we were using were not working which meant we were by ourselves, with no other campers. I'm not sorry I was expecting to have a wonderful camping experience..

What next? We didn't have any bars or Internet access We had nothing. My laptop was with me but it couldn't make it to the bag. I had nice backdrop prepared for the trees in order to watch the tiny projector I took with me for nice big-screen effect movies - there was no Internet to access Hulu, no Netflix or Disney+.. What a mess.. My kids were a total pain to watch. All they wanted was to check their email and texts, keep on top of school things and more, etc. We packed our bags and returned to our hotel. After we got out of the wifi-less zone my kids made noises similar to piglets eating tasty food stuffs... Really, my children are awesome. It was embarrassing. They groaned and moaned as their phones started to sound and announce the arrival of texts.

Since then, my plans have improved , and I now try to avoid being stuck in an area without internet access. However, this time when we went on a long boat ride towards our destinations and I was in need of my best friends from the past with me - two tablets and a laptops stuffed with Hulu offline video downloads on one, Netflix movies and shows on the second, and the laptop contains all the music songs, videos and large movies that I've downloaded for later viewing using both Hulu and Netflix apps available thru Windows apps store. I have approximately 600 hours of material to enjoy, which includes all the South Park, Friends, and Will & Grace seasons.

I have a lot of funny videos for kids. I downloaded some YouTube music videos and then converted them to MP3 and MP4 formats. This web application allows me to download videos directly to my personal computer. I then can watch them offline anytime I need electricity. I DVR lots of TV Shows, Movies, and Online Lectures. These videos I save as MP4 on my laptop. After that, I play them with VLC, KMP, or practically any video that supports 4k.

Another thing I insist on is 4K. You have seen it? Video is clear, really amazing. I strongly recommend. TVs with 4K image have amazing software in the TV that process that image and makes it better, upscales it and makes it more appealing. Older videos look so much better on the TV. Even though it's not excellent, it can be transformed into a smooth, modern video. Girls and boys alike will love it!
