IPhone Gaming Controllers - An In Depth Anaylsis on What Works and What Doesn't
You'll be having to choose between the medium, low and high levels of controllers for your iPhone. The list I give you isn't a definitive list however it's a quick easy explanation of the options available, where to get it, how it works.

Budget Friendly - Rotor Riot Gamepad Controller
This controller is one of the first that I ever bought and enjoyed it! I wasn't a fan to use the Xbox controller, or Playstation because of the fact that I play a lot on my consoles and having to sync every when I switched be a huge inconvenience.

Best iPhone gaming controllers
The Rotor Riot Gamepad Controller allowed me to play with my console gaming separate with my gaming on mobile. The wire technology allowed it to be independent and fast when it came to connecting it directly to an iPhone. The only issue I faced in it was the larger iPhones, like the iPhone Pro Max versions weren't very comfortable to use for long periods of time.

zen modded controller are decent enough, but it won't compete with a dedicated Xbox or DualShock controller in the button department. If you don't mind syncing and switching between console and mobile device or don't own an Xbox, I would suggest skipping this controller and getting an appropriate console controller that comes equipped with an adapter clamp that will allow you to clip your iPhone to your preferred controller.

Mid-tier: SteelSeries Nimbus+
This controller lets you switch between devices like your Mac, Apple TV, and iPhone or iPad easily since it is wireless. It's costlier than the Rotor Riot Gamepad It has a bit better build and wireless. I think it's a worthy entry in the Best iPhone Gaming Controllers list because of its flexibility as well as its design and the price. I would say that I like the non-symmetrical joystick design.

SteelSeries Nimbus+ Wireless Gaming Controller

High-Tier: Razer Kishi & Backbone One
Two controllers were included at the top of the line of this best iPhone gaming controllers list . I can say that they're about the same price depending on the sale that amazon may be running, however they both have great design and build quality. They are the close as you can achieve portability and perfection.

Razer Kishi
Razer Kishi for iOS – Lightning (Not the USB C version)
This is my personal choice to satisfy my iPhone gaming needs using a controller due to the portability and portability of this controller. The right joystick can be a little strange in its position compared to my smaller-medium hand and the d-pad is rather strange, so getting familiar with it is something you'll need to do. I chose this one over one like the Backbone One even though it was not as good due to the fact that it folds up into a small shape and I can fit it in the back of my bag or into pockets for travel.

Razer Kishi Folded
Truly compact and perfect for gaming on the go. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and it's working flawlessly. The controller can be used with every modern iPhone even the Mini series so don't worry about it not being a good fit. Last thing you should know is this device is available in two different versions 1. for iOS and 2. for Android using USB C. PS: This controller works in conjunction with Xbox Game Pass and OpenEmulator for iPhone.

Backbone One

Backbone One
It is the second top-of-the-line option for the Best iPhone Gaming Controllers list and I'll tell me that I nearly opted for this over the Razer Kishi because this controller has better joystick placement and a bit firmer, heavier, feeling to it, giving it feel a little more "pro" gaming feeling, but looks I don't agree. Yet you need to choose if you want portability more than quality or quality over mobility?

It is true that this device includes a software launcher for games that's pretty cool, however I think it's a gimmick and wouldn't be considered when trying to decide between this model and Razer Kishi.

I still can recommend this one from what I've researched and found out that it is a great choice and it just personal preference that separates this Backbone One and the Razer Kishi because both cost approximately $100. PS This works in conjunction with Xbox Game Pass

The Most reasonable option...
In reality, if you wish to achieve the ideal balance of budget friendly and build quality it is recommended to avoid paying more than $60 for a controller, and just get the official controller from Xbox or PlayStation with the DualShock. These are wireless, and their build quality is something even the $100 controllers can't match, but of course these do beat the console controllers from the official brand for portability.

Xbox Controller
The Xbox controller offers the best value and quality balance, but before I let you go, here are a few things you need to know about making use of the Xbox controller with an iPhone: 1. The paddles won't work on controllers that are the Elite Series 2 and the Elite Series 1 doesn't have Bluetooth to it, so it won't work. All the other Bluetooth current Xbox controllers work well.

PlayStation Dual Shock Controller
This controller has been tested and tested for compatibility with Emulators and almost anything game-related in iOS, but the new PS5 controller won't support the adaptive triggers due to Sony not allowing it. Both the PS4 version as well as the PS5 version controllers will work well with iPhone.
