Young DJs need to invest in top quality music. Low bitrate mp3s are not the most appropriate choice.

I'm not a DJ. This is the way I've always believed. I attempted DJing during high school and in college and couldn't keep up with what others did. To be completely honest, I didn't have the imagination or the ears to be DJ. I often missed the beat and change to 7th instead of 8th. There were many other things that made DJing impossible. But I can listen. I can tell when the DJ is offbeat I am able to clearly see where they make mistakes but I am unable to with my own mind do the things they do - entertain people none-stop for many hours..

If you're considering becoming DJ, you shouldn't be discouraged. My story shouldn't be a hindrance to your plans. My attitude towards people is to do whatever you want and to be the person you are. Be yourself and do your thing. DJs, as such, need constant help to comprehend the reality. It's good to help them understand what's happening around them. The New Trier DJ must not be converting Youtube videos to mp3, as it is prohibited in their TOS. It is also incompatible with our ears due to the sound quality. The sound quality of any music clip, or any other video is limited to 128kbps. M4A container can generate 160kbps. I hope these numbers won't confuse you. If you're a DJ or computer audio enthusiast like me, then you'll understand that mp3 could include as high as 325kbps of sound quality. It's great, however, it's essentially removed sound that is packed into mp3 by cutting the lowest and highest frequencies of sound. The sound that is created isn't complete. The deepest house music doesn't sound any more pronounced when played at 320kbps. If you compare it to playing it from a vynil - then deepness of sound is what knocks crystal glasses off of the table.

New DJs should not spend time (and perhaps cash) in low-quality copies of popular songs. Beatport and Juno Download are good places to start. They offer a wide range of solid, great, high-quality sound. They are great for remixes and mix-ups. It is possible to still have excellent bass even if you are using the lowest quality MP3 however it'll still be awe-inspiring with the incredible bass. This is exactly what mp3 sound lacks - amazing bass.
But knowing that should not make a DJ who is new feel at ease. Do you think that improving your sound is what makes an outstanding performer or artist? It's always best to invest in your tools to ensure you get the top results using them, top-quality live sets that sound great and the best mood for club dancing and the best times to young people who go to clubs. Because they'll come back when they're dancing to good beats. This is the norm.
