Right from the inception of our community, we've had members who have put posts related to selling of their used handpan. As new pans are bought, old pans will be up for sale or swap. So here are a few guidelines and ground rules that we feel are appropriate for buyers, sellers and swappers to follow.
When posting a sale or swap ad, make sure to include :
1) Number of hands exchanged (first/second hand/ limited edition /unknown etc).
2) *Latest video of only the handpan (so that the look and sound is fairly represented. No processed audio. Raw / unedited videos only). Failure to provide this will result in request to delete the post, repeat offender will face temporary debar*. Also mention whether the buyer is welcome to come and try their hands on it (if in the same city).
3) Original price and expected price (if there's a bill from original maker that's even better). Negotiable or not.
4) Inclusive items (Bag /stand /mic /oil/shipping etc)
5) Brand / Maker's name, country of origin and scale with notes.
6) Any known issues or flaws (bright or off notes/scratches /dents /rust etc).
7) History of retuning or information on it for future reference.
These rules are meant to curb any unfair practices or sale of substandard handpan.
To all the buyers - prices and quality of the instruments will vary. So, *please do your research before committing to a swap / sale.*
