Celebrity Chef Robert Del Grande
As one of Houston's first celebrity chefs, Robert Del Grande has had an amazing career. He has a PhD in biochemistry, a James Beard Award, and a storied history of charity work. The two were engaged in 1985 and married in 1987. The couple moved to Los Angeles after their wedding. They started a family and opened a restaurant in downtown Houston in 1982. The name of the new restaurant changed four times. The cafe was originally called Cafe Annie, but now Robert del Grande has partnered with restaurateur Benjamin Berg to name it "The Annie."

While the former Cafe Annie chef was a successful chef, he opened a restaurant named "Cafe Annie" in 1996. After the restaurant's success, he and Mimi were filmed by the Great Chefs of the West in the same city. The couple's new business had a difficult time settling in Houston, but Robert Del Grande and Mimi Schiller were soon able to find a home in Rio Ranch. The two chefs became partners.
