Raleigh police seal days-long hunt for venomous zebra cobra with glue trap.
Despite the efforts of animal control officers and law enforcement, law enforcement and animal control officers trapped the venomous snake on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body by putting it in a red bucket and transporting it to a safe location.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.

After confirming it was a snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back of the area and attempted to capture it there.
Searches were launched early Tuesday after the same home made a 911 call.

The city of Raleigh, N.C., is the state capital. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping an event that garnered attention throughout the state.
As soon as the cobra was guided into the red bucket, it was moved to a safe location where the glue could be fully removed.
An earlier video interview had captured a striped snake crawling onto a porch on Sandringham Drive from the siding of a house. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.
When Animal Control officers confirmed the snake was the one they moved camera crews back before they attempted to catch it.
911 call from that same house sparked the search at the beginning of Tuesday.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved that the ordeal was over.
I feel a lot safer, said she. I feel extremely happy. Now that I can go outside, I can walk on my deck and go outside. However, I feel bad for the snake.
One zebra cobra has gone missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where there is a striped snake on a porch.
Even a morning dog walk can prove dangerous for this snake, a zebra cobra that can spit up to nine feet. It is a very dangerous snake according to the African Snakebite Institute. A victim's nervous system could shut down if stung with venom.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. A severe fever and breathing issues could cause respiratory failure.
Salina Locke is an experienced veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, where she treats all types of pets.
Normally, this cobra species does not bite. They spray their venom more often -- they are very accurate and attack straight in the eye, according to her.
The snake is not recommended as a pet by Locke due to its risk.
People tend to get bitten most often when they're sleeping. Health problems can linger for years for people who are bit, according to research.
It has been reported that police searched a home on 6917 Chamonix Place, near the location where the cobra was last spotted.
A police officer visited that home four times in March for an animal issue. Approximately half a mile away, they spotted the zebra cobra on a porch, prompting them to return on Monday and Tuesday.
The records of the county show Rebecca and Keith Gifford live at the address. According to a Facebook account linked to Keith Gifford's name, he has several photos of snakes he claims to own with his son, Christopher.
Chris Gifford has more than 460000 followers on TikTok. His posts claim he has a 7-foot zebra cobra.
