Contemporary Art - A Main Article Of Visual Arts

<p>In the visual arts, style can be described as &quot;a unique style that enables the group of works to be classified into various categories...or a distinct, and therefore identifiable, mode in which an artistic work is done or an object is made or performed&quot;. Styles, like formalism and conceptualism are ideas with which art scholars spend entire careers studying. They differ from art to art and from era to era. But, in general terms, a style defines the general appearance of art.</p>

<p>Just to give you one example, paintings by artists such as Monet, Braque &amp; Gris, Cezanne, Degas, Rothko, etc. would be considered modern art. Such paintings clearly show a certain style in painting, but their appearance is very different from each other. Yet, they all have the same general idea behind them. Such similarities are also found in literature. Here, one example to illustrate this is Charles Dickens's use of the word &quot;Paradise&quot; several times in his novels.</p>

<p>One can also see the parallelism in literature. For instance, in recent times, there has been a resurgence in contemporary art styles - the expressionism style, impressionism style, minimalism style, etc. But, these art styles do not necessarily suggest a specific identification of art to a certain geographical region or even a specific (written) genre. Thus, literature too can be seen as a form of art, despite the fact that such literature is written in a different language.</p>

<p>The situation of world fusion is another important factor that has resulted in a common identification of art styles. In the case of world fusion, an entire art style is blended in a single artwork. A famous example for this would be the works of Picasso and Dali. However, while these two artists managed to fuse the styles, it did not result into an 'art style' as such. This happened because their vision and their styles were so alike that they actually merged their works, resulting into a unique and unexpected piece.</p>

<p>The field of Visual Arts, on the other hand, is actually much more diverse. There is no singular art form in the visual arts. Each artist has a main article of clothing that he/she specializes in. In this way, the art form is varied and rich. We can see this most notably in jazz dance and sculpture.</p>

But, the difference between these art forms is that one is more descriptive and communicative while the other is more abstract.
