To get an idea of what this feature offers, just browse through some of the applications that are already available on the Google+ Home page. As you will notice, they are all connected to the social networks that these companies have built-in.


You will also be able to access your email from within the new interface. This means you won't have to log in to use the email application. Instead, you can view all your emails in one place. This might surprise some Gmail users who might find it difficult to navigate through their mail.


Another surprising feature is the inclusion of Maps on the Google+ dashboard. You might think that a search engine would include this function, but Google has chosen to focus on three places instead of including them all in the new interface. In fact, it is not clear whether it will integrate Google Maps with Android, Apple's mobile operating system, or both. This might surprise some Gmail users who were expecting Maps integration.


You will also be able to share links and text with your friends and coworkers from within the interface. This functionality is similar to what happens on Twitter, where you can post short snippets of relevant content from your desktop, smartphone, or tablet. It works quite well on Google's social network, which means you can easily share links and snippets from your Google+ account. For instance, you might post an interesting article you wrote for your kids, a recipe that you found while doing some research, or any other content that you feel like sharing.


Google launched its new search engine results page last year with a lot of fanfare. You might have seen the changes, but you may also be confused as to how they have changed things.
