Gambling Addiction and Bad Habits

Many of us have a problem with our tendency to go overboard in gambling. Many gamblers claim that they have lost everything because they have gambled too much. This is especially true for gamblers who engage in progressive gambling, which is also known as long-term gambling. When the gambler loses a lot in one session, it is more common for him to experience a downhill trend in his gambling losses: the more he gambles, the more he loses.


A bad gambler, on the other hand, usually bets high amounts and loses them. He considers the thrill of winning as more important than the risks involved. He doesn't care if he loses a lot or not; all that matters to him is that he wins something. This bad gambler can be very destructive to his friends or family, because his attitude is such that he thinks little of these people as mere gamblers who are engaging in bad gambling practices. Thus, a bad gambler can do real damage to a society by being irresponsible in his dealings with others.


A good gambler on the other hand, is aware that losing is part of the game and that there is always a risk involved. Good gamblers know how to limit their risk, and they therefore rarely lose money in the games that they play. A good gambler does not see the need to win every single hand in the game, because losing is not such a bad thing if it means that they will have to try again at another level. This is why good gamblers are not as concerned about whether they will win or lose as they are about whether they will be able to continue playing and try the next level.


So then, why does a bad gambler tend to be so reckless and negligent in his dealings? The most common answer to this question is that he is human. People tend to do things that they cannot control. Another reason could be that bad gambling habits have been imprinted in the bad gambler's subconscious mind, so that whenever he gambles, all his behavior is driven by the memory of past losses and he ends up with a zero-sum game. This is why a bad gambler will often lose more in one day than he did in the previous days and weeks.


Of course, the bad gambler can also be very good at gambling, and this is where the contrast between the good and bad turns around. The good gambler, while he knows that he is risking something, does not let this fear paralyze him. He knows that he needs to gamble for entertainment, but does not feel anxious or worried about doing so. He has clearly taken steps to protect himself from negative outcomes. These gambler's actions have consequences in his life, and he knows that this is the price that he must pay to enjoy his gambling games.

The bad gambler does not see the big picture, and he therefore tends to make mistakes in his gambling decisions. It is not that he lacks self-confidence; he just does not choose his own risks. If you are a bad gambler, then you should take some time off, go to a casino and find out what games you like to play, and figure out how to prevent making common mistakes.
