Seafood

Being an island, it is no surprise that Floripa has fantastic seafood. In fact, the island was originally colonized by fishermen, and several of the old fishing villages and traditions remain today. One common fish is mullet fish, or tainha, that's inexpensive when seen during the season, which usually lasts from May through to July. During this time certain beaches are sealed to surfers to allow fishermen the best a chance to access the tainha, as they fish with nets from the shore. Floripa also offers lots of modern sushi options, too, which makes it a fantastic destination to get a sea food fix.


Yoga

With more than 20 yoga studios on the island, this activity is very easy to find no matter where in Floripa a tourist is staying. There are a variety of classes and styles to select from, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Bikram and Ashtanga yoga classes. There is actually aerial yoga exercises courses at select studios, or perhaps head to Barra da Lagoa to consume a class held directly on the beach.
